suitcasing

#TECONF has a zero-tolerance policy regarding suitcasing. Please note that while all meeting attendees are invited to the exhibit floor, any attendee who is observed to be soliciting business in the aisles or other public spaces, or in another company's booth, will be asked to leave immediately.

Definition:

Suitcasing is when a representative of a company registers as an attendee and attempts to get the same benefit as a Company who exhibits or sponsors the event by actively trying to recruit business from participants and attendees.  They do this by trying to solicit business while visiting booths on the trade show floor, handing out flyers in hallways, leaving printed material on tables, etc. – without paying to be an exhibitor or sponsor or any prior consent.
